So, how do we work? 

Step one in obtaining your new garage door is to contact our friendly staff. Our customer service team handles numerous calls on a daily basis and is there to chat with you and get a quick idea of what you’re looking for. We can then book a free home survey at a time convenient for you — this will usually take place within a week. Alternatively, if you prefer, we can arrange for brochures to be sent to your address to peruse at your leisure.

During the survey, one of our technicians will visit you at your address to take a look at your garage in more detail. We’ll precisely measure the dimensions of your garage aperture and talk about what you want in depth. We’ll even bring samples and brochures with us and walk you through the products that we have on offer. Once the survey is complete, we’ll price up the project and get in touch with a comprehensive quote.

Once you’ve received your no-obligation quote, we’ll touch base within 24 hours to see if you want to go ahead. Need more time to decide? No problem, we’re only ever a phone call away if you have any questions.

If you wish to proceed, we’ll take a 50% deposit and order your new door. The time it takes to arrive is dependent on the style and manufacturer, but most doors can be delivered within a couple of weeks. Once your new door has arrived – at a convenient time for you of course – we’ll arrange a date to come over and install it.

How long does the process take?

You might think that the process of getting a new garage door installed will drag on for months, but this isn’t the case when you choose Shutter Spec. We pride ourselves on maintaining short lead times and strive to complete all installations within four weeks. 

On the day of the installation, your garage door fitter will work quickly and efficiently to have your new door installed in a matter of hours. If you’ve opted for a double garage door, we even send an extra technician to ensure that your garage door can still be installed on the same day.

What happens after my garage door has been installed?

After your garage door has been installed, we’ll provide you with a demonstration of how it works and leave you with some instructions for maintenance and care. In the unlikely event that something goes wrong or you’re not 100% satisfied, you’re always welcome to give us a call and we can pop back and perform a garage door service or repair work.
